SecurStore, one of UK’s leading Cloud Backup and Recovery specialist understand that to sustain costs for data stored over a period of time, a 2 tier storage model is needed. The value of data over time decreases so why should customers keep paying the same costs and naturally increase their spend on data backup associated with single tiered solutions.
The solution is to have 2 tiered model whereby less important or non-critical data can be archived to a cheaper second tier for recovery within 24 hours whilst mission critical data can be stored on a primary tier for instant rapid recovery. Also as each file has a date stamp on it, files can be recovered at any point in time going back many years with no extra costs.

SecurStore implemented the second tier over 12 months ago with great success, as customers were able to immediately transfer old data to the second tier. This has proved a key success in keeping existing customers and at the same time bringing in new customers such as La Senza who are actively using both tiers. Especially during these times when budgets are being scrutinized, the 2 tier model addresses the long term costs associated with online backup.
