Security issues have continuously become more important, especially in the field of information technology. More information is now stored in electronic format and new technology, such as the Internet and e-mail are pushing that development further. Within SecurStore, data is stored that not only concerns the company itself and its employees, but also sensitive data on companies and individuals.
Today, digital data is under more threat than ever. Laws on the handling and usage of information are stricter than before, hackers have become smarter, and SecurStore like most others has therefore had to react.
As a result, SecurStore and its employees have to become more careful and more thoughtful regarding the security of information. SecurStore has an ISO 27001 information security management system (ISMS) certification which identifies, manages and minimises the range of threats to which information is regularly subjected. Annually, BSI, the National Standards Body of the UK, with a globally recognized reputation for independence, integrity and innovation in the production of standards that promote best practice, certifies SecurStore’s operation.
The objective of the security rules, measures and standards is to guard the privacy, authenticity and the availability of the information and the relevant hardware. The objective of the privacy, the authenticity and the availability is to:
- Protect sensitive information from unauthorised publication or access by applying the relevant secrecy.
- Make sure that the information and software is correct and sufficient at any time.
- Make sure that information and the necessary services are available whenever SecurStore’s clients need it.
The objective and the aim of SecurStore crystallises in the company’s Security Policy, which has been confirmed by the CEO. Security rules, standards and methods in the field of IT do not only apply to employees of the IT division. All employees have an important role and are expected to apply to these rules at all times.
